Application
To participate in the Scholars of the Future, students must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must have declared Computer Science as a major.
- Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Application Deadline: Aug 16th, 2007.
Notification of award: End of August, 2007 (or sooner, depending on applications).
This application consists of two parts. You must fill out an online application form, and write an essay to be submitted via email. To complete the application you must:
- Select a research project from the list provided on the VTURCS website. See a description of the projects available and identify the project and faculty with whom you want to work.
- Complete and submit the application available on survey.vt.edu.
- Write a 1 page essay explaining how your participation in the Scholars of the Future program will add to the program and positively impact your educational and occupational goals. This essay must be submitted via email to Dr. Manuel A. Pérez-Quiñones at mperezqu@vt.edu.
Your application is considered complete once we have received the essay, and the online application has been filled out completely.
