Grant Overview

The Scholars of the Future program is an undergraduate research mentoring initiative that was designed to improve the undergraduate experience of students, particularly women and ethnic minorities in information technology, as well as to encourage these students to pursue graduate training in these fields. The Scholars of the Future program will help undergraduate IT students by providing them with the following:

Ongoing academic and research experience
Exposure to IT peers and mentors
Career advisement and guidance
Professional development opportunities that prepare students for the rigorous demands of graduate education in IT fields

The main objective of the Scholars of the Future program is to provide opportunities for traditionally underrepresented students to gain in-depth academic and research experiences, heighten attitudes toward IT research, and receive encouragement to pursue graduate studies in computer science.
